I use MemPad multiple times a day for some 8 years, and it has totally replaced Notepad.
Some non-intuitive aspects but the „Help” file is very thorough.
I have an encrypted pad with all my passwords, another for diary, one for work, and one for everything else.
Need to correct the Requirements.
I've used MemPad on Win 98 (I think it works on Win95) through Windows 7 (The Help file says Windows 8 works as well).
Memory requirements are under 5 megs most all the time, and disk space requires 2x the size of the file (for the automatic backup).
I used to run it on small USB keys with never a problem.
